Sexual Health & Safety

CalienteHub is committed to the health and safety of performers and our community. Whether you're in the industry or just watching — knowledge saves lives.

HIV & STI Prevention

HIV is preventable. Here's what actually works:

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis)
A daily pill that is 99% effective at preventing HIV. Available by prescription in the US and Mexico. If you're sexually active with multiple partners, talk to your doctor about PrEP.
Condoms
When used correctly, condoms are 98% effective at preventing HIV and most STIs. Use water-based or silicone-based lube — oil-based lube breaks latex condoms.
Get Tested Regularly
Every 14 days if you're an active performer. Every 3 months if you're sexually active with multiple partners. Many STIs have no symptoms — testing is the only way to know.
PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis)
Had a possible exposure? PEP can prevent HIV if started within 72 hours. Go to any emergency room or urgent care immediately. Time matters.
U = U (Undetectable = Untransmittable)
People living with HIV who take their medication and reach an undetectable viral load cannot transmit HIV to sexual partners. Science is clear on this.

Consent & Boundaries

In the adult industry and in life — consent is everything.

  • Consent must be enthusiastic, informed, and can be withdrawn at any time.
  • No one should ever pressure you into a scene or act you're not comfortable with.
  • Discuss boundaries, limits, and safe words BEFORE any scene begins.
  • If something feels wrong, stop. Your safety is more important than any production.
  • Document consent — reputable studios use consent forms for every scene.

For Performers

Protect yourself and your career:

Know Your Rights
You have the right to refuse any scene, any partner, any act — no questions asked. A professional studio will respect this.
2257 Record Keeping
All US adult productions must maintain age verification records under 18 U.S.C. § 2257. Never work with anyone who doesn't verify your age.
Contracts Matter
Read every contract before signing. Know what rights you're giving up, where the content will be distributed, and how you'll be paid.
Mental Health
This industry can be emotionally demanding. Organizations like Pineapple Support (pineapplesupport.org) offer free therapy for adult performers.
Financial Safety
Get paid upfront or through established payment systems. Never work for "exposure" or promises of future payment.
